The students of CILFA are taking part in a travel café!

Recently, a group of CILFA students met with a travel professional, Mr. Patron, who is the founder of the travel agency “La Route des Voyages.”

The meeting took place at a very cozy café in the city center called “Sur les pas de la petite botte.”

Mr. Bernard Patron was kind enough to spend some time with us. He founded Route des Voyages 23 years ago. It’s a travel agency specializing in custom itineraries that offers unique trips to some 50 destinations around the world! The agency is committed to responsible tourism and participates in several local development projects.

Bernard answered all the students’ questions. He told us he had already visited 70 countries! He also asked the students some questions. The discussions in French as a Foreign Language were very enriching.

Next, each student presented a trip. The topic of travel often comes up in French class. Katy, from Scotland, took us on a photo tour of Cuba. Koji, from Japan, introduced us to scuba diving in Djibouti! Arish, from India, took us to London and Miami. Jaeyoung, from South Korea, took us across Australia from Perth to Melbourne and told us about her encounter with kangaroos. We also traveled around France with Nathalie (in Provence) and Valerii (in Versailles and Giverny).

The travel café took place in the very cozy café “Sur les pas de la petite botte,” located near the Annecy train station, right next to the “La Route des Voyages” travel agency. At this café, you can enjoy a drink, coffee, or tea. You can also sample some delicious homemade cakes and pastries. There are several travel guides you can read while you’re there. It’s a place where you’ll feel right at home—be sure to check it out!

To wrap up the “Travel Café,” Frédéric took the students to West Africa by recounting a cycling trip he took with his brother a few years ago. If you, too, would like to discover bicycle touring and practice your French, you can take part in the CilfaCyclette, which will be held from August 16 to 19 this summer.
