DILF A1
What is the DILF?
The DILF (Diplôme Initial de Langue Française) is an official diploma that assesses the basic French language skills of beginner learners. It corresponds to level A1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This diploma is issued by the French Ministry of National Education and is the first step before the DELF and DALF diplomas.
Who is the DILF intended for?
The DILF is intended for people who are just starting to learn French and wish to validate their initial language skills, enabling them to communicate in simple everyday situations, both orally and in writing.
Examination procedure
Listening comprehension
Understanding announcements, simple instructions, common information, numbers, dates, and schedules.
- Duration: 25 min
- Grading: 35 points
Reading comprehension
Understand simple messages, instructions, short texts.
- Duration: 25 min
- Grading: 15 points
Writing
Copy or complete simple information
- Write short messages (form, brief message)
- Duration: 15 min Grade: 15 points
Speaking
Interview with the examiner
- Ask and answer simple questions
- Describe a situation, express basic needs
- Duration: 10 min Score: 35 points
