and exams at CILFA
How can I register for classes? What documents are required to register?
You can register online on our website, or directly at our school during office hours. To register, you must:
- fill out a registration form,
- pay a deposit of €200 (or €450 if you request accommodation).
After we get your form and payment, you’ll get a registration certificate with your name on it. The rest of the tuition needs to be paid by the day you arrive at the school.
What is the number of participants per class?
There are between 7 and 8 participants on average, with a maximum of 12.
How many levels are there?
There are 4 levels: beginner, false beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Which are the nationalities represented?
In 2023-2024, the CILFA welcomed into its French language courses students aged 18 to 78 years old. a8> 162 students aged between 18 and 78 years old and from 46 different nationalities .
How old are the participants?
The average age of participants is around 30-35 years old. We welcome both young adults and seniors. In 2023-2024, CILFA welcomed French classes to its premises. a17> French classes for students aged 18 to 78 years old.
What is the deadline for registering for courses?
There is no registration deadline. However, we recommend that you register as soon as possible due to the small class sizes (12 students per class) and if you wish to request accommodation.
How can I find out which group I will be in?
On orientation day/when you arrive at CILFA, you will take a placement test to determine which group you will be placed in.
Can we start during the session?
If you are not a complete beginner, you can start each session every Monday. Complete beginners must start on the first day of the session.
Are we required to attend the entire session?
No. We offer 11-week sessions during the academic year, 4-week sessions in July and August, and 3-week sessions in September. However, it is always possible to participate in courses for less than a full session, subject to availability.
On which days and at what times are classes held?
Classes are held Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Evening classes and DELF exam preparation classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Is it possible to take an exam without having taken a course at CILFA?
Yes, CILFA is an examination center for DILF, DELF, and DALF. Any candidate outside the school can take these exams at CILFA. (Exam schedule)
