Discovery

DELF, Diploma of Studies in the French Language. This level recognizes initial language proficiency.
It is the most basic level of proficiency in what is known as the “introductory” language.
At this stage, the learner is capable of simple interactions: they can talk about themselves and their immediate surroundings.

Listening comprehension

Response to comprehension questionnaires relating to three or four very short recorded documents relating to everyday life situations (two listenings).

  • Maximum document length: 3 minutes
  • Duration: Approximately 20 minutes Rating out of: 25

Reading comprehension

Answering comprehension questionnaires based on four or five written documents relating to everyday life situations.

  • Duration: 0 hours 30 minutes Rating out of: 25

Writing

The test is in two parts:

  • Complete a form, a document
  • Write simple sentences (postcards, messages, captions, etc.) on everyday topics
  • Duration: 0 h 30 Rating out of: 25



Speaking

The test consists of three parts:

  • Directed interview
  • Information exchange
  • Simulated dialogue
  • Duration: 5 to 7 min Preparation: 10 min Rating: 25
