Annecy and its lake
A charming town surrounded by mountains and world-renowned for its crystal-clear lake, Annecy is the ideal place to combine studying with sightseeing.
In the afternoon or on the weekend, you can enjoy the lake, try your hand at water sports, go hiking or rock climbing, and explore a region with a rich cultural heritage.
Every summer, CILFA offers two options to choose from for learning the French language:
- 3:00 p.m.: 3 hours of French class every morning from Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m.: 15 hours of French classes in the morning + 5 hours of educational activities.

CILFA’s educational activities
The educational activities offered by CILFA complement French language courses and open the classroom to the outside world. They provide more opportunities to engage with the French language and culture and to learn French in a variety of contexts.
In the summer, CILFA offers, among other things:
- a guided tour of the city of Annecy, a castle, or a natural site
- An introduction to pétanque, a game that is typically French
- a cruise or a bike ride along the lake
