The spring session will begin on April 8! While we wait for the new students to arrive and for some returning students to come back, let’s take a moment to talk about the free workshops and services offered by CILFA!
Every year, from October through June, in addition to French language courses and DELF preparation courses, CILFA offers its students free workshops to help them practice phonetics and conversation.
The Phonetics Workshop
On Tuesday afternoons, a CILFA instructor leads phonetics sessions for up to 14 people. Each session focuses on one or more sounds and aims to help students better hear and produce them through appropriate exercises. The instructor then typically offers students a more personalized session on the computer, providing them with tailored advice.
The Conversation Workshop
Conversation sessions are offered on Thursday afternoons, alternating between Levels A and B from one week to the next. Students have the opportunity to practice speaking in small groups and/or as a whole class. This practice allows them to apply what they’ve learned in class and feel more comfortable with the French language.
The other free services offered by CILFA
In addition to phonetics and conversation workshops, CILFA offers its students other free services:
- Resource Center: All year round, you can borrow books tailored to your level (grammar, vocabulary, etc.) and DVDs with French subtitles
- Cafeteria on Tuesday and on Thursday during the break at 10:30 a.m.
- Tutoring on Mondays from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.: from October to June, a CILFA teacher is available to help students with their French learning if they wish.
- Wi-Fi free for the students of CILFA
